McComb Ohio 25 Dukes Restaurant Mt. Cory Ohio Class History We began the first of four of the most important years of our lives as Freshmen at Cory Rawson on September 7, 1964. At first we were amazed and befuddled, but soon we were in the swing of things. We looked up to our teachers and the upperclassmen to teach us, of course, the scholastic subjects, as well as how we were expected to act now as high-school students. Mrs. Zimmerman and Mr. Edie, our sponsors, were especially helpful and patient. On September 17 we assembled to hold our first class meeting. Ed Ridge, president; Dick Jones, vice-president; and Sue Loy, secretary were chosen as our officers. During the year we gained Ken Thomson to our class. He had a short stay though, as he, with Ed Thomson, left us before the year was ended. Our Sophomore year was started with much more knowledge of high-school life than the year before. We welcomed John Hunter, Dick Dunn, Susan Benton, and Mitsy Court- ney to our class during the year. We were sorry, though, to lose Judy Augsburger, Belinda Balister, Ruth Brewster, Dick Dunn, Larry Crist, Susan Benton, and Misty Courtney. Ear- ly in the year we once again voted for our officers. David Nessler, a Jeneranitte, was elected to be our president; along with Tom Moyer, the vice-president; Marilyn Niswander, the treasurer; and Anne Balmer, as the secretary. There were many highlights during our Sopho - more year. Some of these were: choosing class rings, BVC football and track champs, the class dance, and many other things that stand out in individual memories. We were fortu- nate to have Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Davies guide us through this eventful year. By the start of our Junior year we were a well acquainted and funloving group. We soon realized, with the help of our sponsors Mr. Rossman and Mr. Deeds, that this was to be a very important year. We very carefully selected our new class officers. The results showed Tom Moyec, as president; Dave Shafer, the vice-president; the treasurer was Dick Jones; and Carol Crew, the secretary. Our Junior year proved to be one of few dull mo - ments. It started with the receiving of our class rings. Soon after, our football team clinch- ed its second straight conference crown, and then the basketball team followed in its foot- steps. We were proud to give a very successful play in A Ready Made Family, under the guidance of Mrs. Wasbro and Mrs. Shindledecker. Ron Peterman and Jesse Gonozalas en- tered our class in 1967, but Jim Wilson had to leave us. The year was topped off as we pre- sented the Seniors with the Junior-Senior Prom. The theme was An Evening in Paris. After a super summer we found ourselves on the last leg of our high-school career. We know we have a lot to look forward to, but maybe now for the first time we looked back to the memories of all the fun we have had together. Through a year of many decisions and plans we are ably guided by Mrs. Wilson and Mr. Clevidence. We regained Judy Augsbur- ger to our class at the beginning of the year, but we lost Jesse Gonozalas. In our first meet - ing as Seniors we chose Mark Boehm to be our president. He is aided by vice-president Da- vid Nessler; secretary David Shafer; and the treasurer Dick Jones. For the third consecu- tive year our football team has won the BVC title. This, along with many other other hon- ors that our class will gain during the year, will always be remembered. Upon arriving there I came across a scene of a most shockng nature, which I watched through the window of a taxi driven by (of all people) David Shafer. Getting back to the scene, US Marshall Paul Fenstermaker was leading his deputies, Ron Peterman, Jack Cupples, Ray Scholes, and John Weihrauch against a mob of pacifists. I was unaware of the fact that Ed Ridge, Ron Reese and Tom Moyer had turned Hippie. I soon became bored of the violence. ' Bout halfway to the White House, Jerry Cupples and Steve McFadden stopped me on the street and asked if I had heard the news. Well of course I hadn ' t, so after Jerry got Steve to quit play ing his guitar, they told me that Mike Carr fell from his job (washing win- dows) A moment of silence please. They went into further detail of the accident, and told how Frank Benjamin had run off the road in his Texaco wrecker, and apparently knocked the ladder from under Mike. ,,-.,- I finally arrived at the White House where I procurred the files from Dennis secreta- ries Janet Motter and Darlene Rizor. They were well-dressed, as are all women of their sta- tus ' in one of the latest styles by Chris Rodabaugh and Sue Baumgardner. As I was leaving the building, I witnessed, to my amazement, Secret Serviceman Mark Boehm protectmg President Pam Frazier with his life. It was good to see a real man in action. From the White House I decided to drop by the office of one of the world s famed psy- chiatrist Mark Zimmerly. Walking down Pennsylvania Avenue, I noticed an attractive sign. It read- ROWER ' S GROCERY HARDWARE. I couldn ' t resist the urge to go in and purchase an item from the traditional 99 t Special Box. While at the cash register, Mary cal- led Sandy Crist and Pat Crawford out from the back room. They were dressed in dirty cov- eralls and had been working on a sump-pump all day long. Planning to continue my trip to Zimm ' s I left the store in high spirits; but as soon as I stepped out the door, I was knocked tothe sidewalk by a man on a 30-speed English Racer. I arose from the walk and saw Dean Shilling waving to me as he sped on his way. Later, I learned that he won the Cross-Coun- try Cycle Race. I once again started on my way, but had received a head injury from the mishap The one person I never expected to see in Washington, John Hunter, insisted th at I go to the hospital for a check-up. I consented, but if I had known he was going to drive me there in a beer truck, I ' d have thought twice about the matter. Laundry, Dry Cleaning, Pressing 306 Lima Ave. Norge Village Findlay Ohio 30 At Gromans Music Ph. 432-1952 The Band-Orch Shop Sales— Rentals— Repairs 729 N. Main, Findlay, Ohio Personalized Service Walt Dornn The hospital was a beautiful sight, and I was greeted there by an equally beautiful sight, Sue Loy and her assistant, Anne Holdren. They issued me a room in the cellar, noti- fied the janitor to remove the guinea pigs, and sent me Mary Ann Mutchler who was tak- ing the place of a recently discharged brain surgeon. She told me I would have to remain there for a few days for X-rays. After a few well-spent days in the hospital, I reached the office of that renowned psychiatrist. I got there just in time to see Bill Webb, Mark ' s only patient, depart from another of his fifteen-hour sessions. I ' m sorry to say Mark wasn ' t very hospitable. He told me to leave after I talked to him for fifteen minutes. When I asked for the reason, he threw a tantrum, so I could do nothing but secure him in one of his straight jackets and be on my way. I left Mark sane and went in search of a place to eat and rest. I checked my files and headed for the Caffeen Cafe owned by Carol Crew and Cathy Jones. They told me that their folk group had just finished recording for Nessler Nessler, one of the largest record firms in the world. As I was going out the door, two unruly men crowded me back. Each had with him eight copies of the month ' s edition of PLAYBOY. I thought I recogn ized them from the files, and in short time named them as Randy Huffman and Bob Von Stein. They had previously been editors for the magazine but were fired for lack of concentration! By this time my legs were getting tired, so I hired Mike Romick to haul me around in a ew Jet-Copter of his own design. Watching from high in the sky, I saw a traffic jam form- ing below. It seems as though Anne Balmer and Vicky Kidd, like any good teachers, were taking their classes on a trip. Skimming over the tops of tall buildings, I noticed a man on the street below. He was grinding away at an old organ while his monkey danced before him. As we moved in for a closer look, we waved to Dick Jones. I told him long ago that he was musically inclined, but I never thought it would come to this! Above the buildings again, we watched a crowd forming on a rooftop. It consisted of extremely popular person- alities who had gathered to watch a new dancing technique being demonstrated by Cheryl Warren. As we flew over them, I greeted her with a hearty hello through the bull horn. The Washington Park next. No sooner had Mike landed his machine than I saw a Monk- robed Jane Green lying among the flowers holding some sort of holy ritual. I talked to her or an hour, but she never spoke. I became worried, for when we were in school, silence was not her code. I summoned a policewoman who responded instantly. She ran over to Jane and beat the living daylights out of her. When the officer got herself under control, she identified herself as Alma McClelland. Alma told me how she had taken riot training, but decided it wasn ' t her line of duty, so she transferred to the police force where she could use her skill on people like Jane, who just wasn ' t civil. I ' ve come to the conclusion that some women are strange; some are fanatic. These two were excellent examples of both. For a change of scenery, I stopped at a drug store. Remembering the nicotine fit my dog had the other day, I thought I had better get some tobacco. At the pipe counter Karen Moore was demonstrating how to get the best smokes from cheap pipes. In front of me stood an old wo- man who appeared to be in great misery. In the course of purchasing a pipe, the woman re- vealed herself to be Judy Augsburger. She told me that Esther Bauman had rescued her from an uncharted island. Esther was in command of a platoon of WAVES consisting of Marilyn Niswander, Ann Searfoss, Martha Eck, and Kris Anderson. The latter was com- mander in chief of bulletin boards. I had completed my goal! Now I think it would have been better to write them letters instead of finding them. Nevertheless, classmates, I leave you with these thoughts to do with as you wish. Your classmate, Ken Warren. 31 Last Will and Testament We, the members of the Senior Class of 1968, Cory-Rawson High School, Hancock County, Ohio, being of sound mind and body, realizing the impossibility of forever keeping these things which we hold so dear, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament, hereby revoking any will or wills here-to-fore by us: ARTICLE I To the Faculty, we will our ability to get along with each other.
