We appreciate the good job she had done in teaching us English and speech. In addition, this year she has been the advisor for the Na- tional Honor Society. After teaching eight years at C-R, she will be missed by everyone next year. HERR GARDEN GREENHOUSE 123 S. Route 4 Findlay, Ohio BOB LATHAM ' S Service Station Rawson, Ohio Class History On a morning in September, Mrs. Zimmerman, Mrs. Reeder, and Mr. Jenkins held their breath as the new group of freshmen entered Cory-Rawson Halls. It would be these teachers ' jobs to introduce these eager young students to the ways of high school life. Two students new to the class as well as the school we re Ron Blair and lyelene Kinney. Leaving us this year were Janice Augsburger, Terry Cupples, lyelene Kinney, and Charlotte Long. The class chose as President, John Collins; Vice-President, Dave Scoles; Secretary, Ruth Ann Young; and Treasurer, Pamela Falk. As sophomores we began to feel quite important. Mr. Marshall, Mrs. Tippett, and Mr. Lee very subtly showed us the error of our ways. The class was now better acquainted and, as we chose our officers, a few Rawsonites cast votes for a Mt. Cory nominee, and vice-versa. The results were: President, Wayne Yoak- am; Vice-President, Earl Bixel; Secretary, Ron Taylor; and Treasurer, Jon Dukes. We added to our number Phillip Basquez, Terry Cupples, Evonne Goings, Lynette Mart- in, Sharon Montgomery, Bonnie Nunn and Patricia Raines. We lost Phillip Basquez, Ron Blair, Harold Boysel, Patricia Raines, Kate Taylor, James Victory, Geoffrey Wolfrom, and James Womack. As Juniors we anxiously awaited the arrival of our rings. We were aided in the plan- ning of the prom, Red Sails in the Sunset , by our advisors Mr. Deeds, Mrs. Davies, and Mrs. Seitz. Under the able direction of Mr. Berry, the comedy Off the Tracks was presented. The President, Wayne Yoakam; the Vice-President, Chuck Sullivan; the Secretary, Dave Scoles, and the Treasurer, Jon Dukes served us faithfully during this eventful year. During the year, Lynnette Martin, Kenneth Rettig, and Pam Weisenborn left us. Now, as seniors, we have Wayne Yoakam as President; Chuck Sullivan as Vice-Presi- dent; Dave Scoles as Secretary; and Jon Dukes as Treasurer. Mr. Clevidence, Mr. Berry, and Mrs. Reeder have helped to guide us in this, our last year, towards a graduation that will be followed by successful and meaningful lives. We added to our graduating class Lewis Benton, Linda Orwick, and Geoffrey Wolfrom. The tpnm consisted of Earl Bixel. Dave Krautter, Terry Cupples, Ron Taylor, and John Collins. The team had chosen this town because its the same as their high-schools nick- name. Recognizing their names as former classmates I decided to buzz over in my helicopter and watch. A fast approaching storm forced my landing in a back yard. Dashing out of the house came Ruth Ellen Reel now Mrs. Roger Badertscher. My poor helicopter was ruined so I reluctantly called the wrecker listed as B F Service. Ian Betts and Don Frommer appraised the damage as being minor. They said they would take the copter to the Babcock Bo dy Repair. Jim and Roger Babcock have built a good business. Jim ' s telling elephant jokes really drew the customers. I bought a paper and read, Mayor Wayne Yoakam insists that bicycle riding in the Hornet Village high-school be outlawed. ' ' Dave Scoles, the superintendent, urged the bicycle riding because he was at- tempting to stress physical fitness. The teachers of the school, Marcia Meyer foreign language, Norma Fenstermaker science, Glennda Lootens history, Nadine Harris English, Mary Ann Cole math, and Evonne Goings Religious Education teach- er, had complained that some of the students were drag-racing in the halls! The world famous musical group, the Cockroaches, planned to stop long enough at the Men ' s Elite Clothing Shop that was frequented only by the most famous people in Hollywood. The Cockroaches consist- ed of none other than Chuck Sullivan, Roger Freed, Denny Wynkoop, and their newest addition, Jerry Griggs, drummer. It seems that they just can ' t keep the girls away. Deciding that they really wanted to do something different, Kathy Blackburn, Barbara Kurt, Marlenne Leeper, and Sharon Loy started their own bus- iness as proprietors of the Men ' s Elite Clothing shop. As I passed a building I was astounded to see someone lowering himself on a rope from the 12th story window. A crowd of people were gathering so I decided to go closer. Ruth Ann Young, the psychologist, was trying to persuade a love-lost soul that he shouldn ' t give up hope! Feeling rather shaken up, I hailed a taxi. As it came to a screeching stop, the driver proved to be Greg Warren. He told me had been presented the safe driving award for 1979. Picking up my paper again I learned that many of my former classmates were working in the United Nations. Rachel Bower, Myra Bowman, Darlene Deeds, and Sharon Montgomery can take dictation at a very rapid pace. They accredited this to their former high-school days. It seems that Janis Marshall and Bonnie Nunn put their artistic minds together and designed an olive branch that covered the entire U. N. building. Karen Ridenour and Donna Redick, our ambassadors, have been able to establish good relations with every country in the world. Seeing the hospital ahead I noticed landscapers working on the lawn. Darl and John Deeds and Dave Von Stein created a new type of grass that never grows over one-half inch tall. I learned that Edwin Zeisloft was filing a law suit with his lawyer Nelson Welch, because he had just invented a lawn mower that could be remotely controlled from an easy chair. Coming out of the hospital for a breath of fresh air was Dr. James Steiner, formerly Aches and Pains. ' ' He said the nurses, Diane Staley, Judy Patton, and Marilyn Nessler, were trying to calm all the pa- tients because one patient had started a rumor that Pam Falk, a famous movie actress, had decided to give up her acting career and become a nurse in the hospital. As I turned around a Beauty Salon across the street caught my eye. The four operators, Carolyn Rip- ley, Carla Osborn, Sharon Pore, and Karen Ruppright were trying to Convince the doubting Christine Rauch and Linda Orwick that their orange hair was the style. I finally reached the school auditorium and managed to get in just before the doors closed. Sheryl In- body, president of the Better Business Women of America announced the team had not yet arrived but we would be entertained by a comedy group called Three Stooges II, which were Marty Marshall, Ralph Schack- elford, and Dave Reese. Next we were held spellbound by the trapeze artistry of Lynn Bauman, Jon Dukes, Ed Hummon, Diane Watkins, Linda Reiter, and Ruth Weihrauch. They were awarded a tremendous round of applause. Angela Baier went back to Austria but found she missed the U.S.A. and good old Cory-Rawson so much that she too now resides in. Hornet Village. I enjoyed my visit so much I have decided to pack my belongings and make Hornet Village the home of yours truly, Barbara Von Stein.
