Our freshman year, 1959, found a band of 61 iger and enthusistic freshmen entering the hal- iwed halls of C-R. Though confident we were, it ok no time at all for the upperclassmen to show 3 we had much to learn. Our sponsors, Mrs. Zim- lerman, Mrs. Reeder, and Mr. Jenkins, helped us ) get a footing on the climb of high school life. Chosen for our officers to pilot us through our rst year were Lynn Falk, President; Gary Craw- ird, Vice President; Sharon Spaeth, Secretary; id Jim Smith, Treasurer. During the year we were nfortunate to lose Bill Brewster, Collene Detrick, lisa Amaya, and Carol Wright. Losing the glitter and excitement of our fresh- en year, we plodded on as sophomores, falling in- ) the ruts of high school life. Our sponsors, Mr. larshall and Mr. Jeong, exercised much patience 5 well as instilling in us a strong desire to carry at our duties as members of the student body. Our officers elected were as follows: Gary rawford, President; Pete Sullivan, Vice President; haron Spaeth, Secretary; and Jim Smith, Trea- lrer. Gained during the year were Mike Brown, ennis Montgomery, Mike Betts, James Powell, id Linda Lee. Lost were Floyd Eck, Judith Ben- imin, Richard Williams, and Janet Grubbs. As juniors, we found the responsibilities be- nning to mount, but the rewards of being upper- assmen compensated for the added work. One of le main highlights of the year was the receiving f our class rings. Our dramatic ability was dis- Layed by the presentation of our class play, The oarding House Reach under the supervision of Irs. Tippett. Due to the co-operation of all the lembers of the class and the director, it was one of our crowning achievements of the year. Elected officers were John Spaeth, President; Mark Crates, Vice President; Karen Morrison, Sec- retary; Dennis Bame, Treasurer; and Sharon Spaeth, Reporter. Mr. Deeds and Mr. Cook, our sponsors, got many gray hairs helping us plan the annual Junior-Senior Prom, which was held at the American Legion Hall in Findlay. The theme was Stairway to the Stars. Lost during the year were James Rizor, Bob Gardner, Linda Lee, James Powell, Mike Brown, and Lynnette Wilson. At last - our senior year. But how fast it has approached us! Now we are the ones setting exam- ples and helping the underclassmen to become sin- cere and faithful students of good-ole C-R. The responsibilities that have slowly mounted have come to a peak. Our sponsors, Mr. Clevidence and Mr. Berry, have the difficult task of guiding us through the last and supposedly best year of our lives. The officers for this important year are John Spaeth, President; Gary Crawford, Vice Presi- dent; Nancy Inbody, Secretary; Ann Steinman, Treasurer; and Susan Shindeldecker, Reporter. Big events of the year were senior selection of class colors, motto, and flower, and the memorable Junior-Senior Prom-Banquet. The senior play, It ' s a Girl , was presented in November and was directed by Mrs. Reeder. We welcomed Marion Mac Fadden and Elaine Goings into our graduating class but were sony to lose Mike Wooley and Phil Shulaw. The activities of commencement week will be the crowning events of our high school career. We are looking forward to ending the year with the annual senior trip, which will be the last time we, the class of ' 63 will be together as a class. HANCOCK COUNTY FARM BUREAU CO-OP ASS ' N., INC. FINDLAY BEAUTY SCHOOL 108 South Main Ohio ' s Most Modern Beauty School Findlay Ohio THE NATIONAL LIME AND STONE COMPANY Findlay Ohio arcadia Football Jim Searfoss started the scoring as he smash- ed over from the six to give us a never relinquished lead. Falk, who played end this game caught two passes from Crawford to end our scoring. Arcadia added a score to their side but C-R had it wrapped up. Final score C-R 20 Arcadia 8. VAN BUREN Fullback Bob Parker scored tthe first TD on a plunge into the line. Falk, playing end again, received another Crawford pass to put us ahead 12 to 0. In the second quarter two passes from Gary Crawford to Lynn Falk, a combination which clicked several times all season, added two more scores to our total. In the second half, VB added two scores of their own only to watch Crawford dash 31 yards for another touchdown. Parker closed the scoring with a two yard plunge in the fourth quarter. Final score C-R 42 VB 14. VANLUE Cory-Rawson got off to a fine start by scoring two touchdowns on passes to Dennis Bame. Bad luck struck Gary Crawford received a serious leg injury to put him out for the rest of the season. Vanlue came back and scored five touchdowns to take the lead. We added another score to our total but fell short. Final score C-R 20 Vanlue 34. LIBERTY BENTON Early in the initial period, Ken Thomas scored for C-R, with Bill Johnson running the conversion. In the second quarter, L-B tallied to tie the score. In the final quarter, quarterback Lynn Falk was tackled in the end zone for a two point safety. Their lead was short lived as Jim Searfoss threw a 40 yard pass to Falk to put us back in front. We held them on downs and took over on their nine yard line. After a penalty which put the ball on the three, Falk moved in for the score. Final score C-R 20 Liberty Benton 10. LAFAYETTE The Lafayette game was a defensive dual, which ended in a scoreless tie. We had the deeper penetration, but lost our chance on a fumble. Final score C-R Lafavette 0. COLUMBUS GROVE The first game of the 1962 season found Col- umbus Grove at Cory-Rawson. Highlights The Hornets jumped into the lead early in the first quarter, when Lynn Falk exploded for 78 yards and a touchdown. Gary Crawford kicked the conversion. The second score came on a Crawford pass to Dennis Bame, with Falk running the con- version. In the second quarter, Jim Searfoss scored after a 38 yard march. Shortly afterwards, Craw- ford recovered a fumble on the kickoff and then plowed over from the six to put the icing on the scoring. Final score C-R 27 CG 0. McCOMB This year ' s Cory-Rawson team got revenge for last year ' s defeat on the two yard line. The Hornets drew first blood when Falk dash- ed 45 yards up the middle for the touchdown. The Panthers had a drive halted on the nine, when Joe Bowers recovered a fumble on our 12. The first | play then saw Crawford break loose on an 88 I yard jaunt for the final score. Final score C-R 12 McComb 0. BUCKEYE LOCAL Adding a new opponent to the schedule did not seem to bother C-R. It was Lynn Falk who did most of the damaging as he had a field day in scor- ing five touchdowns. He had touchdown runs of 40, 7, and 53 yards. His other two came on pass recep- tions from Crawford of 45 and 23 yards. Crawford also tallied on a run in the second half. Other scores in the rout were a nine yard run by Searfoss, a 40 yard pass from Steve Beagle to Earl Bixel, and a stolen ball by defensive tackle Marion MacFad- den, who romped 60 yards for the final score. Buckeye Local scored on C-R in the third period, thus being the first to score on us this year. Final Score C-R 64 Buckeye Local 8. ARLINGTON The first defeat of the season came at the hands of Arlington. They scored first when a punt was blocked on the 12, and three plays later, they ' scored. C-R came bouncing back on a 90 yard march with Falk finally going over from the one. Again Arlington capitalized on a C-R mistake as we fumbled on the 27. A determined defense finally could not hold them as they scored from the four. Our final score came on a Crawford |Falk pass. Final score C-R 12 Arlington 18 SRS. Linda Dukes Gary Crawford SOPHS.
