JV girls work hard junior varsity coach Maynard Freemole felt positive about the girls' 2-6 season, saying, Although we got off to a slow start with barely even a team, the girls worked hard, kept a good attitude and had a better season than the records indicate. According to sophomore Dorrie Knapp, Most of us hadn't played soccer before, but over the' course of the season we improved tremendously and had a lot of fun. The team's good attitude played a large part in their determination. Playing exhibition games each weekend against teams from higher leagues, they improved their skills while building up their confidence. Freemole added, XWhile most of our time was spent learning fundamentals, the girls were patient and showed much natural talent. As sophomore Allison Marek summed it up, We had a building season... next year we'll be more experienced and have a stronger team. 1: GirlsjV Soccer: Back Row fL-RQ: Coach Maynard Freemole, Katie O'Neill, Michelle johnson, Jenny Hansen, Kyle Kaagan, Melanie Smith, Krista Habelt, Eva Dye Middle Row: Daric McKibben, Ana Hilde, Dorrie Knapp, Allison Marek, Kirsten Starkey, Randi Oukrop, Lisa Olson 2: junior Randi Oukrop hustles towards the ball. 3: Sophomore Lisa Olson and Randi Oukrop move in on the ball as sophomore Eva Dye looks on.

JV soccer boys make history The 1986 JV Boys Soccer team will go down in the record book as the first Corvallis boys team ever to beat Cresent Valley, and a solid victory it was with the Spartans taking the Raiders 4 to 1, according to coach Eric Pittenger.
