Girls excel despite injuries The girlsj'V Volleyball team finished the season 17 - 1. The players are proud of their record and feel as though they played exceptionally well this year. The team agrees that key players were jill Anderson, Missy Meyer, Laura Ziemer, and Leslie Thomas. Sophornorejennifer Hockema says, 'c' The team played well, but I think next year we should focus on team unity. Our only drawback, was too many individuals. Another sophomore, Laura Ziemer, comments, Overall, we played very well, despite many injuries early in the year. jV's end season with 7-2 record According to coach Ron Sather, the JV team has improved much sir1ce last years freshmen team. Ending the season with a 7 -2 record, they lost only to McKay and South Salem. Lance Thomas and Eric Dimmick lead the team at quarterback, while the leading runners were Mike Faucett, Steve Harding, Jarrod jack, Matt Smith and Sean Yarber. The line was led by KR Bradley, Marcus Woods, Scott Dyksterhuis and Clint McNaughton. Commenting on the team as a whole, Sather said he thinks these players will be a valuable asset to the varsity team next year. We ended on a strong note, beating a few teams we didn't beat before, concluded sophomore Lance Thomas. 1. 4'-ll? n Girls played consistentl The freshmen girls' volleyball team is happy to close the season with 13 - 5. They didn't get high stats, but they feel good about how they played, according to freshman Ellen Nagy, who added, We need to work on talking before a game. You've got to be a team and you have to talk. All players agreed that though they had their down games, they were a good team. Another freshman Cone Laver said, I liked how everyone was the same and no star player stood out.
