Cross Country Team: Back Row QL-Rl Coach Steve Locey, Dave Sanders, Bill Lloyd, Steve Reeves, Tei Gordon, Coach Barb Locey Third Row: John Grif- Individual efforts help team The boys' cross country team competed very hard this season. Although some of the runners felt they could have done better, the team ended up placing 7th at District. In cross country the District score is the only one that counts, as in some other Brian Pofahl, a senior at Corvallis High, placed 3rd at District and qualified for State. Pofahl said, Districts were good for me and very competitive this year. I didn't do as well at State this year because I placed 100th, and last A highlight of this season, according to Coach Steve Locey, was the 1 individual effort and the team improvement. jon Griffin improved the most when he dropped his time by a minute and a half at District. A key runner, Steve Gardner, commented, It was a good season. We didn't win too many fmeetsj, but it was fun. The cross country team carried 20 runners, however, only 7 could nm varsity.
