' Girl's League presents a day in the Mighty Spartan Court March brings the coming of Spring ln order that the T959 Chintiminis could be distributed in May, the last deadline had to be March lst. March, April, and May were filled with many activities which we were not able to include in this year's book. March activities began with the 3 one-act class plays given before the student body on March 3. The class whose play was iudged the best received an oscar . Calico Cord Daze marked the coming of spring to Corvallis High with three fun- filled days. On Friday, March 6, Girl's League presented an assembly to show the students the correct wear for the various Calico-Cord Daze. Wednesday was the official beginning as Beatnik Day got underway. Thursday everyone was allowed to act natural, it was Kiddies Day. The climax of Calico Cord Daze was the assem- bly where the whiskers of the CHS men were iudged and a prize given to the win- ner in each category: this was on Friday, Far Away Places Day. Friday evening Calico Cord Daze came to an end with a dance held in the gym. State Tournament was March 17th through the 2lst. At the some time the year- books went to press it was still unknown whether or not Corvallis High would be in the State Tournament. Back to school after spring vacation and the end of the 3rd nine weeks grading period. Spring sports got under way and the Willamette relays were held in Salem on April 4th, On April 8th the seniors and their parents got together for the annual Senior Potluck. Most of April was taken up by elections. Campaigning and voting took place for the next year's student body, Class, and League officers. Following this the Spring Music Concert was held. May, the last month of another school year at C.H.S., for the seniors, the last. The annual Chintimini party was held and everyone received their copy of the T959 Chintimini, for several days, everywhere you looked there were people standing, sitting, or walking while signing yearbooks. Friday, May 22nd the Junior Prom Fantasia with the music of The Note- ables Seniors received many awards at the Senior Awards Assembly on Friday, May 29th which was also the last school day for the seniors. Sunday, May 31st was Baccalaureate and then graduation on Wednesday, June 3rd. June l thro'ugh the 3rd was the final week for the sophomores and juniors and on June 5th the school year ended. As we look back over the year we realize that it takes its place high in The Wonderful Years .
