I would like to congratulate the members of the Senior Class of 1973 for their efforts over the past 13 years in attaining the goals necessary for High School completion. Each of you have reached one of the several milestones toward the fulfillment of those plans. Graduating from High School is an event which is important to each of you and this is as it should be. However, this is only the beginning in your quest for your chosen place in society. With the Vietnam war behind us, this country will hopefully now turn to neglected concerns at home. You will have an important role in helping to solve many of the domestic problems, we now face such as inflation, racial problems, and pollution. Your tasks will not be easy and you will experience indecision and frustration. However, if you will always keep in mind that you have a responsibility to your country and to yourself to always strive for betterment, your goals will be reached and your place in society a truly rewarding one. Good luck to each of you and may you have a happy and successful future. Richard J. Clark Assistant Superintendent In the future when you read this book, you will recall to memory many pleasant experiences of your life while attending Corunna High School. I sincerely hope that these experiences will help you reach a fulfillment in your expectations of life. Roger Rathbun Administrative Assistant Director of Vocational Education As our population grows larger, all of us must be acutely aware of the need to maintain and improve the quality of life. The conditions of modern life are such that education becomes a requirement for survival. Man must gain a better understanding of himself, and this complex world into which he has been bom, to prepare himself to be of service to himself and his fellowmen; and possible even to gain some wisdom in the process. It is our hope that the graduates will be able to accommodate them- selves to changing roles in a changing society. Richard Ziegler Junior High Principal 4

Bocwl Of Edbuccttiotu STANDING, L to R: Raymond Bizoe, Arlo Butcher, Duane Black; SITTING, L to R; Bruce Conklin, Kenneth Hayes, Donald Olmsted, Robert Gute. In your total educational experience to date, you have attained to some degree serviceable intellectual and occupational skills. You, your parents, and your school are to be commended for this accomplishment and justifiably so. The pinnacle of fulfillment for you personally, however, must await your application as you grapple with what may appear to be recalcitrant social, political and economic processes. As you plead attention to the environment, to social injustice, to political high-handedness and power structures, to the wanton killing in Vietnam, and others, remember that social regeneration demands more than criticism and more than self-righteous anger and indignation. Your consistant focus must include action for meaningful change in our coun- try and, more importantly, in the aspirations of its people. The class of 1973 will, in my judgment, respond in an honest and sophisticated manner to the challenges of the social-culture and moral issues of our time. My generation has been found wanting. Yours must succeed. Good luck. Ray Dennis Superintendent Corunna Public Schools

Seniors, soon you will be leaving Corunna High School to take your place in our complex and ever changing society. I sincerely hope Corunna High School has assisted in some little way in preparing you to meet the challenges you are going to be facing. I have confidence not only will you meet these challenges by becoming a useful citizen, but you will also strive to make this a better world in which to live. I would like to wish each of you the very best of luck. Duane Ash Principal Corunna High School As benefactors of a high school education, I feel you owe much in return. Some may feel they have it made. However, until every man can rent, lease, or buy according to his means and desire; until every child can have an equal opportunity in youth and manhood; until hunger is not only immoral but illegal; until selfishness and greed are recognized as a scourge reaching epidemic proportions, and treated as such; until racism, sexism, and narcotics are conquered, can we truly begin to speak of success. Your high school education could be a springboard of dedication and devotion to these causes. The challenge is there. The choice is yours. It's up to you to accept or reject. Nicholas Annese Assistant Principal 5
