RICHARD J. CLARK Ass’t. Superintendent In this fast changing world in which we are all experiencing tremen- dous social and economic problems, one must stop to ask himself What is my role to be in helping to solve these problems and make this country a better place to live,” This is a problem which confronts everyone and especially the young people of our country, for they are entering a period of time in which they will have to provide the leadership and impetus necessary to bring about positive change for a better society. This challenge is yours, graduating seniors, and you must accept it. You cannot stand aside and expect someone else to do it. If the problems in our country are ever going to be solved you must take an active part in their solution, otherwise you will become part of the problem. Good luck to all of you in your voyage through life, and may your course be true and your destination fulfilled. Sincerely, Richard J, Clark, Ass't. Supt Corunna Public Schools The way to success is through effort. This is something that each of you must provide. Opportunities will be forth coming. It is my sincere hope that you have been provided with an education which will enable you to make wise decisions concerning these opportunities. Couple this with your efforts and you will have a formula for a wholesome and re- warding life. Remember though, your success will only be as great as the effort that you put in to it. Sincerely, Richard J. Ash, Principal Corunna Public Schools DUANE L ASH Principal 5

Board of Education STANDING, left to right: Bruce Conklin, Bob Volek, Arlo Butcher, Bob Gute, Ralph Chapin. SEATED, left to right: John Deppong, Ken Hayes. As you establish a basis for input into the mainstream of our society, you are confronted with a myriad of challenges which are destined to affect the entire fabric of our democracy. Militancy, violence, drugs and various other acts of dissidence are indeed symptomatic of the profound and complex discontent so apparent in our society. You will speak out, in both word and action, to these challenges which must be met and dealt with if liberty, as defined by our ideals, is to be main- tained. In so doing I would urge you to preserve order amid the change which must and will inevitably occur. Finally, I would remind you that one of the most effective ways to do good in this world is to do well in your chosen job or profession. Rest assured that those of us who have worked with you have implicit faith in your awareness of justice, your discerning judgement, and your sense of direction. The one-hundredth class to graduate from Corunna High School will, in my judgement, be equal to the challenge. Sincerely, R. E. DENNIS Superintendent Dennis- Superintendent Corunna Public Schools 4

NICHOLAS ANNESE Assistant Principal Every skill, every rule of behavior, every thought and every idea learned while in Corunna High School should be put to use. The greatest foe which you will meet is to allow your mind to think that you know enough. You are moving faster and faster toward unknown horizons and a future dimly seen. You are crossing the border into mature respon- sibility and you will be on your own. I hope whatever course you have chosen for yourself will not be a chore but an adventure. Keep your sights set far above the secure and mediocre with con- fidence. Remember the greatest builder of confidence is the ability to do something - almost anything well. When that confidence comes, then strive for humility. Good Luck. Sincerely, Nicholas Annese Assistant Principal GERALD BUTTS Vocational Director Today, more than ever before, emphasis is being placed on the role of the school in providing experiences for youth in career exploration and vocational planning. Vocational development is recognized as a process which is continuous throughout the educational and employment life of every individual. The Corunna Public Schools have attempted to provide a well- rounded education for all boys and girls. Because of the industrial and technical society in which we live, we have provided an extensive practical arts and vocational program. It is our belief that each student should have an opportunity to enroll in an occupational program sometime during his or her high school career. The main objective of a vocational program is to teach job entry skills for a cluster of occupations within a given area and not train young people for specific occupations. On behalf of our staff I offer sincere congratulations to our graduating seniors. Sincerely, Gerald Butts Vocational Directoi
