During the past four years of your formal education every effort has been made to provide you with the necessary skills and attitudes to prepare you for a successful future in today’s busy society. Now it is up to you. Use the experiences and training which you have re- ceived wisely and with great determination to be a successful citizen. Above all else, be a good citizen, love your country, and make your place in society one which you will be proud to occupy. Richard J. Clark Assistant Superintendent I wish to offer my sincere congratulations and hope for much success to each of you in the future. You are to be commended for the successful completion of your high school education in this time of social changes. Never before has your generation played such a vital importance in the moods, attitudes, and goals that will portray our great country in the future. I only hope that Corunna High School in some way has helped prepare you for these challenges. Keep in mind that for every right you have, you also have many more responsibilities. If you use the imagination and initiative entrusted to you, you won't have time to be bored. Do more than earn a living. This country needs people with a real system of values, who are committed in their thinking, have roots, have loyalties, and resist in some symbolic way the nega- tives of life which attack all of us. Not the opportunist who is looking for the easy way, the person who doesn’t believe in the value of work as something in itself, who doesn’t believe in service unless there is something in it for him. Develop your character. Few people realize how much they hurt themselves by failing to develop their moral and spiritual traits. God does not give character.
