DEDICATED TO Raymond O. Nash ( 905-1964) With deep humility, the Annual Staff dedicates this Sphinx to Raymond O. Nash, teacher and philosopher. “He was more than just a man; he was a combination of many men, for he bore the mark of Will Rogers, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Nathan Hale and many others. He was abundant in his wit, he never met a person he didn’t like; he believed compassionately in equal rights for all people and was a champion of the down-trodden; he spoke softly—yet he carried his big stick; and in the end he gave his life in doing that in which he so strongly believed —the restoration and preservation of self respect in all people. Yes—Mr. Nash is gone, but for that which he left with us we will be eternally grateful.
