Treasurer Robert Rhoads, Vice President Russell Olmstead. Trustee Ervin Wing. Superintendent To you graduating seniors a great challenge lies ahead. This challenge will be met only if you have a basic recog- nition of your own worth, your country’s greatness, and your devotion to God and the Truth. Any contribution your school may have made in preparing you for this destiny will have been a rewarding experience for all of us. We invite a continuation of our pleasant and profitable association with you in the years ahead. You have a stand- ing invitation to visit and participate with us whenever you can. R. E. Dennis Principal Each year we urge all graduates to be ready to assume the big responsibility and to accept the obligation as a good citizen to ful- fill his role in society. Remember that hard work, charitable habits, cooperative attitudes, and the sincere desire to improve relation- ships among all mankind are involved. May your lives be filled with happiness and success as you graduate from Corunna High School. Charles Alexander, Principal B.S.-Central Michigan U. M A.-Michigan State U. As you graduate from Corunna High School be sure to note that this is a graduation to greater things but not a termination of educa- tion. Your education in one form or another will continue for your lifetime. May you al- ways be receptive to the new and ready to evaluate both new and old before its accept- ance or rejection. Our class officers were: president - Dar- lene Alexander, vice-president - L. Sutton, secretary - L. Heise, and treasurer - B. Bacigal. During the year we had two class parties and sponsored a dance. Our sophomore year we had 100 members in our class. Mrs. Scollen and Mr. Wightman were class advisers. Bob Ockerman was president with M. Sutton - vice-president, T. DeSantis - secretary, and J. Hoschner - treasurer. Our main project was the Sophomore Carnival. We also sponsored a few dances. Our junior year found us with only 87 class members and with Miss Houston and Mr. Wightman as our advisers and R. Mowen as president, M. Meier - vice- president, D. Alexander - secretary, and J. Hoschner - treasurer. This year was a busy one with the Junior Play, “The Egg and I” directed by Miss Herrick, The Junior-Senior Banquet with Paris as its theme, and the Junior-Senior Tea for the girls and their mothers as high lights of the year. We continued to spon- sor a number of dances. September 1962 found us with 86 class members. Our sponsors were Miss Houston, Mr. Wightman, and Mr. Ash. Our officers were: president - R. Mowen, vice-president - M. Meier, secretary - S. Somers, and treasurer - C. Blossom. Our first event of the year was Homecoming. Pat Marks was our queen with Margaret Sutton, Bonnie Bacigal, Luanne Vanderkarr, and Carole Blossom in her court. We played Clare and were defeated 54-6. During the half time, Tom de Santis crowned our queen, and Gary Braley presented her with a gift from the senior football players. The Student Council presented Pat with a dozen red roses. After the game the Queen and her Court reigned over the dance featuring Irv Roberts and his band. Our next project was the Senior Play, a three act comedy entitled “No More Homework” directed by Mr. Jankeji. With a cast of nine female and eight male actors, it was presented to overflow crowds on March 15 and 16. The high light of the year was the Senior Prom on May 4. The theme was “Oriental Gardens” carried out in red, gold, blue, and green. After crossing a bridge at the entrance, the guests found themselves in an oriental garden with a waterfall and flowers featured. Near the garden in a teahouse, Irv Roberts and his band furnished music for the gala occasion. May 28th was Senior Skip Day. We spent it at a ranch enjoying such activities as horseback riding, dancing, swimming, and canoeing. For money making projects during the year we sold pins and pennants at the games and sponsored dances, one of which featured the “Big Man at Corunna.” Our busy year came to a close with the last three major events - Baccalaure- ate, June 2; Class Night, June 4; and Graduation, June 6. Many happy memories of our years in Corunna High will go with us as we now take our first big step into the world. 21 UND juniors Officers Advisers-Mrs. Manahan Mr. Kittendorf President-C. The Corunna Chapter was chartered in 1957 as the 300th chapter in Michigan. Highlights for the 1962-63 school year include: participation in FFA leadership contests, tractor driving contests, state judging contest, a community pest hunt, a planned parent-son banquet and the establishment of a gilt chain. The gilt chain will be started with three outstanding gilts to be award- ed to three outstanding freshmen FFA members.
