Yes, Corunna has just such a board. Hours and hours resulted in a well planned, proposed building addition which was approved by the school dis- trict voters in the fall. Ground was broken this spring, amidst joyous shouting of the student body. The officers for the current year are president—Russell Olmsted, vice-president—Kenneth Hayes, secretary— Harold Wallace, treasurer—Robert Rhoads, Trustee—Arlo Butcher. MESSAGE TO THE SENIORS: You are to be commended for the successful completion of your high school education. It is my most sincere conviction that you have come to realize the ever increasing import of adequate moral, social, and academic attain- ment to meet the challenge of tomorrow's world. May your future happiness and your contributions to mankind be reflec- ted in this knowledge. Ray Dennis Superintendent 4 Robert Appleby Vice-President Janet A. Flynn Secretary SfUMlAoM. President—Phill Walker Vice-President—Bob Appleby Secretary—Janet Flynn Treasurer—Paul Koemer house as the main attraction. Our Junior year we featured a foreign dinner,Italian Spaghetti style. The high light of the year—choosing our class rings. In the spring we had a D. J. Dance with stars from Detroit Bandstand. Then our Senior year all eyes were focused on our trip. Among the money making projects were Christmas Cards, Candy Sales, D. J, Dances, and concession stands at our games. The two biggest high lights were Valentines' Ball, and the Senior Prom. Our trip to Niagara Falls and New York City was taken during Easter. Then came graduation. Fall election of student council members found the seniors represented by Dick Elliott, Janet Flynn, Pat Spaniola, and Phill Walker. Juniors: Dave Hayes, Norm Honke, and Kris Kewish. Sophomores: Sharon Betzler, and Richard Nickels. Freshmen: Vic Spaniola. From these delegates the following officers were elected: Dick Ellliott, president; Phill Walker, vice-president; Pat Spaniola, secretary; Kris Kewish, treasurer. Mr. Charles Alexander, our principal, is the advisor. Supervision of the gym during the noon time was one of the first projects of the new council. It resulted in the purchasing of mere new records to be played on the Hi Fi. Dave Hayes has charge of this project. As in previous years the sales of the student pictures and the student assembly programs were under the student council jurisdiction. The graduating members of the student council hope that each year will find the student body making more con- structive use of this organization as a link between the administration and the students. by Tithof s Clothing 28 Student Council Mrs. Elkins, J. Elkins, J. Katt, W. Gillette atk Working on the Annual can be fun! But who guessed that there was so much work involved? Say the staff. Janet Flynn, editor, is responsible far supervising all the departments. Early in the fall Winnie Gillette, Shelvey Blankenship, and Claudia Elkins eagerly took orders for annuals. Linda Buckelew, Kathy Wallace, and Margaret Yonkers pounded the pavements of Corunna, Owosso, and the county selling advertising. Janet Sparkia, business manager, is kept busy handling the money payments. The cla . representatives, Barbara Woodworth, Nancy Runyan, Beverly Sutton, and Kathy Hagon see that their class pages are pasted-up and typed correctly, while Gladys Warren takes cliarge of the activity pages and Dale Long—the athletic. What's an annual without art work? Eileen Ncrthrup drew for us and Elaine Warner helped the first semester. The typists, helped by many of the staff members, work diligently and accurately. Mrs. Ros%and Mrs. Elkins, advisors, are ' on-call1 at all times. The members of Future Teachers Association start their journey toward future teaching by substituting on occasion for absent teachers in the Corunna Public Schools. In the fall members visited special education classes under the direction of Mrs. Ada Williams to help determine if any of the F. T. A. would be interested in that field. On the lighter side the Corunna faculty and the potential Corunna faculty got together in the fall for a get-acquainted party. In the spring Miss Elsa Meyer lectured on remedial reading, followed at a later meeting by the group observing the various methods by which reading may be improved.
