Shortly after we entered Corunna High in the fall of 1953, the Sophomore class gave us a “Royal” welcome by initiating us. At our first class meetitng we chose for officers: President-John Schnepp, Vice-President-Larry Run- yan, Secretary-Rose Spaniola, Treasurer-Joanne Kal- isek, and for our sponsors: Mrs. Boulee and Mr. Bohac. We chose “Tenderly” as our class song, the white carnation as our flower, and green and white as our colors. Last but not least, we chose as our motto, “Conduct and courage lead to honor.” Our biggest project of the year was a dance called “Winter Wonderland.” To wind up our year we took a trip to Lake Lansing. During our Sophomore year, our activities con- sisted of dances and selling pencils. We chose: Larry Runyan-President, Vic Nickels-Vice-President, Rose Spaniola-Secretary, Joanne Kalisek-Treasurer, and Mrs. Boulee and Mr. Phillips as sponsors. UPPER CLASSMEN AT LAST! ! Our Junior year started out with a “bang”—selling magazines, candy, and pop, having dances and doing almost anything to make money. Our biggest project was our play Night Crawlers,” directed by Miss Spani- ola. A rather big event was the Junior-Senior banquet when we entertained the Seniors. Our class officers were: Prcsident-Larry Runyan, Vice-President-Vic Nickels, Secretary-Sue Wright, Treasurer-Joanne Kalisek. Our advisors were Mrs. Boulee and Mr Phillips. Our Senior year, which we had been anxiously waiting for, was filled with many memorable activi- ties. Our class officers: Larry Runyan-President, Vic Nickels-Vice-President, Sue Wright-Secretary, and Joanne Kalisek-Treasurer, soon discovered that they had a rough but satisfying job ahead, that of raising enough money so we could take a trip. Our activities were producing “Great Caesar’s Ghost,” having dances after the games, car washes, selling Christmas cards, candy, and bake sales. We have many memories and honors bestowed upon us as we leave, such as the last class- to present a play in the Casino, and first class to have a play and prom in the beautiful new gym. Also we were the first Senior class to enjoy a glorious six-day trip to New York and Washington D.C. We bid farewell to the most memorable four years of our lives knowing that we shall never be able to laugh or growl in the halls of good old CHS again. We have our parents and teachers to thank for all they have contributed in making these years a success. We now go out into the future and our happiest years fade into the past, but we have one thing to our advantage—we have an Education.
