Our Principal’s Message . . . Remember, when you look back on your days at Corunna High School, the many pleasant memories and experiences that you had while a member of the studem body. Remember the study halls, the classes, yes, even the teachers that tried to make you study. Remember all the little and big things that went to make up your education. Remember the ever-present spirit of friendliness, the spirit of working together to achieve something worthwhile. Remember the tradi- tion and spirit of Corunna High. Remember the surge of pride of doing something well. Remember the attitudes that teachers tried to instill in you, the ability to think, the help in making your own decisions and always carry with you the spirit of the true Cavalier. We hope that each one of you has gotten a good start in a well-rounded education so that you can successfully gain the goal that you have set for your- self. May you all prosper and return some day to visit us. Holger Andersen, Principal CHARLES ALEXANDER B. S. Coach Drivers Education Varsity Club Advisor JAMES ANDERSON B. A. Dedication ii» A wave, a smile, and a friendly greeting — almost the life story of Dick Self, a 1954 graduate of Corunna High School. No matter the day or time, Dick brightened the lives of those he met by a cheerful salutation. Those who had the privilege of attending school with him can never forget the good sportsmanship he displayed on the gridiron, baseball diamond and cinder track; nor can they forget the help he gave them in their studies. On December 23, 1954, the people of Corunna lost Dick Self when he was unexpectedly taken from them through death in an automobile accident. The life and actions of Dick Self can truthfully be summed up in this simple word love, because he denied love and kindness to no one and extended the hand of friendship to everyone. With admiration and humility we dedicate this yearbook to Richard A. Self. 3
