SENIOR CLASS HISTORY As we entered Corunna High in the fall of 1950, there were 54 scaredfresh- men who had been eagerly awaiting for our first year in high school. Some of us were from Junior High, others came in from the country schools. After we had a chance to get acquainted the Student Council had their traditional initia- tion day. Though all of us dreaded it, it proved to be quite a lot of fun. That night we were honored at a dance at the casino. This year we had a dance and parties which turned out to be a success. Mr. Akins was chosen for our class advisor for the next 4 years. Our class officers were President-Alice Price; Vice President-Harold Taylor; Secretary-Gerald Taylor; Treasurer-Ned Lake. We ended pur Freshman year by a class party at Lake Lansing, which was a lot of fun. At the beginning of our Sophomore year we were a little more sure of our- selves. As Sophomore class officers we elected President Melvin Berry; Vice President Larry Flagg; Secretary Sharalyn Roberts; Treasurer Joan Sersen. This years activities consisted of a dance, movies and a popularity contest in which Sophomore boys sponsored the different girls through the high school. The winners were first place, Alice Price, second place, Marie Flynn, third place, Jane Watson. We prospered by them all. Upperclassmen at last! In our Junior year we chose Melvin Berry as Pres- ident, Charles Fernette as Vice President, Jean Zalesak as Secretary and Millie Flynn as Treasurer. Our activities for this year were as follows: a Junior and Senior Banquet, movies, bake sale, dances, concession stands at the games, sale of Taffy. Our Junior Play which was held November 25, 1952 and was a great success. The new high school which we entered this year made things more bearable for the Junior Class. We closed the school year by a party at Lake Lansing. Now we are Seniors! As class officers we elected: Ralph Stewart,Pres- ident, Larry Flagg, Vice President, Shirley Sheler, Treasurer and Millie Flynn, Secretary. Mr. Andersen and Mrs. Ross are our class advisors this year. We started this year's activities by having concession stands at the games, sold taffy and Christmas Cards. The highlight of our Senior year was the Senior Trip to Washington, April 21st. Our Prom, April 3rd, and Our Senior Play which was December 2nd and 3rd, were two of the biggest thrills for the Seniors. For our class motto we chose: Enter to learn, go forth to serve. Class colors are green and silver and our class flower is the white rose. 14
