At the end of the school year, they will have enjoyed a Halloween party, Thanksgiving Dinner, an exchange of gifts at Christmas, a New Year's party, Valentine party, and many other parties. Mrs. Baird, the teacher has taught fifteen years. Ten of those years were at Surprise, and the last five years here at Cortland, which means that her complete career has been spent here in Hamilton Township. Mrs. Baird has taught in the six lower grades during that time.
