enior di cover Graduation Corsicana High Sschool Seniors met Monday, May 30 for graduation practice. Students showed up half asleep, dressed comfortably in shorts, t-shirts, and warm-upsg and very few girls wore make-up. As rehearsal ended, several Seniors left with their friends to spend one last day of fun together before many departed to carry out their plans elsewhere. May 31 came quickly, and 285 graduating Seniors gathered out- side the K. and Ida Wolens Special Events Center on the Navarro Col- lege Campus making last minute adjustments to their caps and gowns. The commencement exercises began with a speech from Dr. James Price, school board president, fol- lowed by a greeting from Dr. T. Y. Harp. The Senior class officers each presented a bible reading to the class and the audience. Directly after- wards John Reasons, Valedictorian gave his speach then Hilary Hum- bert, Salutatorian gave hers. The A Cappella Choir sang Nothing Can Stop Me Now and then the walk began for each of the sad, yet excited, seniors. After each student had received a diploma, Dena Gray , Student Council Presi- dent, led the closing prayer. A large number of blue hats shot up into the air as the graduates filed out. Tears of joy and sadness rolled down the faces of many as friends hugged, congratulated, and said Good- Bye. I G aduation ook What Counts A C if YU, -mi
