Early Bonfire Sparkes F. The Calicos start the bonfire with a tiger chant. G. Senior Calico Anna Highnote is serious about this dance. Homecoming Although our '87 Homecoming activities were fired up a little early by some unknown persons it was still an exciting week. The week began with dress up days Monday through Friday. Half way through the week the student body each voted on one of the ten senior girls nominated for homecoming queen. They were Jennifer Brown, Amy Chiles, Alneatha Cox, DeAnna Dawson, Anna Highnote, Mary Ann Livingston, Amy Lucas, Shari Reese, Cassandra Terrell and Julie Young. .t The day before homecoming the Calicos, cheerleaders, and the band performed in a downtown pep rally. Directly after the pep rally everyone anxiously went to the bonfire only to find out it was burned close to the ground. The big day finally arrived and the halls were filled with mums loaded with cowbells and glittering streamers. The school day ended with a pep rally jam packed with CHS students full ofspirit and wait- ing for a Tiger victory. Later that night when the half time ceremonies began, the tension mounted. The names of the ten nominees were announced one at a time while they were being escorted by their fathers and brothers. The countdown was on when Mary Ann Livingston was named second run- ner up. Alneatha Cox was then announced first runner up. The game ended after the Tigers smoth- ered Red Oak 42-11. Not only was this another victory for the Tigers, but also a victory for Jennifer Brown who was crowned 1987 CHS Homecoming Queen. Homecoming Look What Counts
