Head Coach Jim Acree, along with As- sistant Coaches Raymond Anderson, Jerry Moore, Jerry Matthews, and Paul Slaugh- ter, worked hard and long with the team, attempting to instill in the boys all the knowledge of football so that they could achieve success, which they did in Vic- toria last December 21. Mr. Acree directed the interior linemen and backs, Mr. Anderson handled the de- fensive backs, Mr. Moore worked with the ends, while Coaches Matthews and Slaughter handled the B Team. PERFECT RECORD CAPTURES STATE TITLE With an accomplished brand of teamwork, all out hustle, and fierce determination, the Tigers clawed through 14 opponents to the Class AAA State Championship. After racing to their fourth straight district title, the Bengals showed their best strength of the season as they whipped Palestine, McKinney, Graham, and Pharr-San Juan-Alamo to reach the pinnacle of AAA football.
