S. its first golf team, to compete in the state meet. After finish- ing second in district play, the linksmen upset their rival, Athens, in regional play hy one stroke. The team then went to the state meet in Austin, where they finished fifth. The second team was made up of joe Garner, Tom Miller, Billy Scott, and Billy Stubbs.
