Head Coach Norwood Our Superintendent of schools was born in Campbell Texas, and attended Lovtl1dy High School Though he had no particular hobby he was lnterested in ill the high school 1ct1v1t1es, especl 1lly enjoying tennis games hunting and fishing Ht studied decl1m1t1on 1nd debate in hls literary work After gradu1t1ng with second honors in 1 cl :ss of fifteen he taught for sev eral ye1rs the sewtnth and eighth grades in Hunt md Cass counties 1nd at Rock port Later he went to the Lniversxty of Tent 1s, where he got his B A degree 1n science He w1s 1 member of the band and during his senior year he we IS a student 1ss1stant in Bactenology For two years after he graduated from the Lnlversity, Cameron clumcd him as a science teacher The VVorld War interrupted hls career at this point, he spent eight months in the service He resumed teachlng as the Principal of the Paris fTexas High School Later he went to Cleburne as mathematics teacher for four years Ht re he met Miss Grace Clayton and married her on May 21 1924 In that same year he bet 1mt Principal of Corsicana High School and held that position until he xx 1s promoted to Superintendent in 1931 A degree from Ttxis UHIVCYSIIY ht has received h1s M A degree from Columbia Univt rsxty, he has dont 1dd1t1on'1l gr 1duate work 1t the Unntrsity of Ch1c1go Although tht superxlslon of tht stvtn white schools 1nd the two lNtgro schools leeeps Mr Norwood pretty busy he takts 1 promlnent p1rt ln CINIC 1ct1x1t1es being 1 member of tht Lions Club 1 member of the Chamber of Commerce 1nd the Suptrxntendtnt of the Methodist Sund1y School He IS 1 life mtmbtr of the State Teachers Association 1nd 1 member of the Depxrtment of Suptrinten dents of the Wltl0H 1l Education Assot11t1on ' 2 . x 5 I yv P I , 11 .1 1 I r 1 'K .
