Poems Throughout his tour on CORRY, the crew continually gave him their support. In just a few short months, his impression on the men of CORRY was amazing. He had taken an old rusted ship with an inexperienced crew and molded them into an efficient battle-ready unit that could compete with any of the newer destroyers of the Navy and win. The crew salutes him as he leaves for his next tour of duty. l i . Gi l 5 rf ' 'U' o MMANDING oFF1oE15' GERALD J. IExEcUT1vE oFF1cER Throughout the entire cruise, he provided un- limited patience and determination in ensuring that each member of the crew was treated fairly. No request was too small or insignificant for him to consider. He also demanded that all work be done with nothing less than maximum effort from all hands. The crew more than met his demands in keeping up with the hectic tempo of operations during this cruise. In return, he ensured that the rest and relaxation periods were maximized. On the light side, one could always get what he wanted from the XO by simply plying him with gallons upon gallons of ice cream or jello - sometimes using both in getting him to grant the more difficult requests!
