QFORRMEQR7 XO'S BRIEF ' I Dedication in it's highest sense, coupled with sincere pro- fessionalism and tact, -LCDR H. D. Griffin has served as the former Executive Officer of the CORRY. His boundless enthusiasm and go attitude served as step- ping stones for us as we labored through an exhausting yard period in Portsmouth and struggled through a demanding training schedule shortly afterward in Guantanamo Bay. His concerned mannerisms and sense of fair play, enhanced by his willingness to achieve and strive to obtain the set goal, did much to instill within us the pride that at times we so sorely lacked. LCDR Griffin goes on to serve as the Staff Operations Officer for the Commander of the Middle East Forces in Bahrain- . LCDR H. D. GRIFFIN Adressed to his crew, he worte: During my tour on CORRY I was extremely dis- pleased to see her put through such a rigid sched- ule, but very pleased to see her perform in such a professional manner. To the crew I leave, I wish you God speed, smooth seas and fair winds - you're the best. Keep her clean for mel To you also sir, we wish the best of luck. PRESENT XO'S BRIEF Lieutenant Commander Frank M. Hunt, Jr. was born in Seneca, South Carolina and graduated with a B.S. Degree in Marine Engineering from the US Naval Academy in 1960. .52 After completing Submeffine School and Nuclear Power Training in April 1962, he reported to the Blue Crew of the USS JOHN MARSHALL QSSBN-6115 and served as Supply Officer and Damage Control Assistant. His next duty was the Main Propulsion Assistant on .. the commissioning crew of the USS LEWIS AND CLARK QSSBN - 6445. In March-1967, Lieutenant' Commander Hunt.returnedtosurfaceships and reported to the USS EVERETT. F. LARSON QDD-8305 serving as Engineering Officer and later as Operations Officer. Before reporting as Executive Officer of USS CORRY, he attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey where he received his Master's Degree in Ocean- ography in September 1971. Lieutenant Commander Hunt's campaign and service medals include the Merit,orious.Unit .Commendation,,the .National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal fKoreaJ, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He is a bachelor and resides on board.
