v - if 'fi-'Qing-2.5, - .L .-' y 'f L 'fflfi . Chance, time and space has afforded for us an opportunity to have become part of an experi- ence most will never realize and few of us will ever know again. But as a result of this experience do we find our ambitions stifled in a negative direction or enhanced in a positive tone? Are we finding ourselves asking questions as to our commit- ments and our driving forces? Do we consider ourselves dupes or leaders for others to follow? To have served with distinction coupled with a sense of pride and accomplishment is one rea- son why some of us were there. For others it was the fulfillment of duty and obligations that led us. Were we victims of political anarchism, high- level bureaucracy, or unwarranted world-wide obligations? These possibilities must also be examined. But if these answers be found true, what resolve must we come to? All the questions of Why us? , Why now? , and Why here? g can never be fully answered. The ultimate resolution to these and more questions must come from within ourselves. Whatever the question and whatever the answerg the 1971-1972 Med Cruise was a time and place when and where some of. us become men and most of us grew a little wiser.
