“The Night Before A Test” Twas the night before a test and all through the house. Not a soul was stirring except me and a mouse. My calculator was humming with precision and care, In hopes that my problem would turn out fair. The clock had just gonged the midnight hour. I jumped and looked up • I had been studying for six hours. My face was drawn I had eaten no food. My eyes were bloodshot, and I was in a bad mood. I heard the test was a hundred questions long. (I had a feeling I would get all of them wrong.) Problems, essays, true and false and completion Were jumbling inside my head, causing confusion. The notes in front of me started to blur. I couldn’t even understand what they were. I had to study, just an hour or two longer So that my confidence for that test would be stronger. My hands started shaking, my heart started pounding, I heard students' screams and my teachers’ chuckles’ resounding. In desparate frenzy I grabbed for the last hook, I realized it was the one my brother took. My confidence was shot, my mind went blank. All study was worthless, (my little brother to thank.) I went upstairs, my stomach was sour. My clock proudly displayed BIG TEST IN ONE HOUR! O K. Tyler the coast is clear, shove the broken test down the drain How about if we skip class and go fishing Future mad scientists performing a delicate experiment with caustic chemicals. 2
