With elements of success In order for a team to Ik successful it must have three elements of success • skillful coaches, talented athletes and supportive fans. Corry High School can boast of its athletics because it possesses all of these tools of success. Before any team can form, it needs a coach. The coach must display qualities of leadership, determination and skill in order to be affective. At Corry we have these kinds of coaches. The athletes themselves should have natural abilities and school spirit in order to compete and defeat. Our athletes are competitive and strive to perform their very best. Not only do members of a team enjoy the thrills of performing, but they also have to endure long, hard practices, make sure to complete homework assignments and study for tests on school nights after hames or practices. Last of all, a team needs fans for supplying support and building confidence. Corry crowds are some of the most spirited in Erie County, and are very faithful to their teams. Faithful parents give much of their time and support to the athletes as well, by coming to the games, driving their sons or daughters to and from games and practices, and washing uniforms. In conclusion it can be said that Corry High athletes have the skill, will, and determination to win and the teams themselves have the winning combination to succeed. During the spring of 1987 Todd Knapp went to Florida to compete in the swimming nationals. The volleyball team had a rough start, however provided to be formidable later in the season, with such wins against Iroquois, Northwestern, and General Mcl-ane
