This team had several of them. The personality of the team as a unit was fun- loving, hard working. determined and proud. They were a come-from-behind team, at least through the first five league meets. This changed. though, at the Harborcreek meet at home. In this one, they were determined to get ahead and stay ahead! They clearly demonstrated that they were the champions. The coach was sure the issue was settled when the medley relay teams attacked a supposedly stronger Harborcreek team and blew them out of the water. After that it was all Corry. Other fond memmories of the 81-62 season: Home diving in somebody eIse's pool. The prayer meetings on the steps - especially the Harborcreek meet. Denny breaking records. The brain-trust meetings on the bus with captains Barry and Jill and coach Gus. Lori in the wrong dressing room! The H.A. award and its perennial winner. Paula's problems: ears, toes, knees, heart. Smacks and crakes our divers felt in practice Super relay starts, like Barry and Don and Mike. Sprinters breaks The stampede at McDonalds. Winning meets with- out winning a relayl Giving the opposition a hug after beating him. Lori Vonderhoof, Jackie Vancise, Taisha Onley, Tammy Norton, Mr. Edwards The 1981-82 Girls' Baskerball team was noted for its hard work and improvement. Over half of the squad were fresh- men, so the five starters saw most of the playing time. Becky Krakowski and Melissa McLean served as senior co-captains. Sue Burkhart and Brenda Puck- ly, both juniors, played consis- tently and will provide a nucle- us for next year's squad, along with freshman starter Wendy Kennedy. A notable highlight of the sea- son was the record-breaking scoring of Becky Krakowski. On February 9, 1982, Becky broke the Corry High scoring record and then on February 12 she became the first player to score 1,000 points.
