With only two players returning to their normal positions from the 1980 season, a new first year coach, and no pre- season games, the 1981 Corry Beavers Baseball team strug- gled to seven straight losses before registering their first victory against the Wattsburg Bobcats. This victory was followed by a victory over the Fort Le Boeuf Blsons and it looked as though the future would bring more good fortune. But that was not to be the case. The Beavers played exciting games against the General Mc Lane Lanc- ers and the Falrvlew Tlgersjust to have victories elude them ln the seventh and ninth Innings respectively. Although the Beavers played better baseball than their 2-16 record indicates, several players gained valuable exper- lence at their posltlons to help them in the upcoming 1982 season. With starting seniors Scott Hunt, Shawn Greer, and Doug Craker to lead them, it is hopeful that the Corry squad will show a record that is equal to it's potential in the 1982 baseball season.

BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE GROWTH AND THE MATURITY, THE SELF PRIDE, AND INDIVIDUAL ACCOMPLISHMENT OF EACH TENNIS TEAM MEMBER, THEN WE ARE NOT-AS THE RECORD INDICATES-LOSERS. THE COUNTY HAD VETER.
