Principal Members of the Senior Class: Your graduation year. 1970, has been referred to by the news media as the beginning of “The Fabulous Seventies”; in your care it could more fittingly be called “The Year of Decision Making.” Few graduates have been called upon to make as many and as important decisions as you will. Since everyone must face the future at the same rate of sixty minutes an hour, you have as much time as the “other fellow” to arrive at essential conclusions. Think things out; continue to do the good job you have been doing; do not follow the crowd blindly. Your parents, teachers, and administrators have faith in you; they have given you the benefit of their ideas, their hopes, and their knowledge. It is my sincere hope that your home and school training will help you in your determination to make good decisions. Remember that these decisions must be thoughtfully and carefully worked out by you - no one can make them for you. Russell L. Brant Principal 7

Superintendent To The Class of 1970: There are two kinds of people in this world — those who do things and those who make excuses. The graduates of the Class of 1970 will do things. You will become healthy, successful citizens in the world’s greatest democracy — the United States of America - the Land of Freedom and Opportunity. Of course it isn't perfect because it is a country “of the people, for the people and by the people and people aren’t perfect. But it is the world’s greatest country from the standpoint of freedom and opportunity. So let's not make excuses and blame the City of Corry. the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or the United States. If we are not satisfied with our government — whether it be local, state or federal — we are free to improve it. We are free to plan our post-high school education and qualify for high-paying positions. We are free to make friends and be loved and respected by being concerned and involved with respect to the welfare of others. So let’s chart our future and have the tenacity to stay on course until our dreams materialize. We will help you draw the map. Sincerely, Ray E. Elsea Superintendent of Schools 6

In The Offices Precisely what the future will bring is not known. All you can be certain of is that it will come, and that it will be different from today. But what you do today — in your personal or professional life — does affect tomorrow. Whether your experiences at Corry High School have fully prepared you to master a world of action — with all its promise of a richer life — depends upon how squarely you face up to the challenges that confront you. The real image of the future is cast by what you do today, tomorrow, next year. Since your graduation is only a prologue, I wish to greet you at the beginning of a great career. Francis E.
