The play takes place far in the future, at a time when women dominate the country and all branches of business and government. The plot stresses the contrast between a male-man- aged country, and a world with Women as the leaders, during a time of important political issues and problems of an impending war. How- ever, all's well that ends well is proved when everything returns to normal as the curtain falls upon the final act of the play. Mr. Philip Legal directed the play and was assisted by Kathy Gage, student director. The cast included the following characters: . . Phyllis Eder . . . .Indy Jerome .. In the fall, when the weather was good, pep assemblies were held in the parking lot. This condition arose because the auditorium was not finished. As soon as the new music rooms were ready for occupancy, the band met regularly and concentrated on the works of such outstanding composers as John Philip Sousa, George Gershwin, and Rudolph Friml. Football SEASON 'S SUMMARY Corry Area High Beavers ran the state's longest major scholastic win streak to 20 before being dropped by Franklin in attempting to achieve their 21st consecu- tive victory. Hampered by injuries to key men, the Beavers were shut out in their three season losses. Five lettermen formed the nucleus for the 1954 team. Eleven let- termen from the 1954 squad will return to form the nucleus for the Beavers in 1955. The Beavers looked good in the seas- on's opener by defeating a highly-regarded Warren team by one-point margin. Lynn Austin scored the first touchdown of the season. Dick Sorenson's thrust from a yard out, after Walter Wolfe's 31 yard scamp- er, was the decisive score. In the second game of the season the Beavers defeated Johnsonburg. Walter Wolfe scored on a 50 yard punt return and other touchdowns were made by Soren- son ftwol and Austin. Corry traveled to McDowell where they defeated the Trojans by a 19-6 score. Sanders' defensive play was the outstand- ing feature of the game. The Beavers, seeking their fourth vic- tory of the season and their 21st over a three year span, looked anything but good in going down to their first defeat of the season by the Franklin Knights. The loss of Dick Sorenson, via a dislocated elbow, was the turning point in the game. Bouncing back in their fifth contest, the Beavers defeated Grove City in the fifth annual Potato Bowl game by a score of 18-7. They still maintain their record of never losing this Chamber of Commerce tilt. Postponed by inclement Weather con- ditions, the Beavers met their arch rivals, the Titusville Rockets, on a Monday night and both teams put on an offensive show. Lynn Ausin scored twice to lead the Beav- ers a thrilling 18-14 victory. The Beavers suffered their second worst defeat over a period of seven years by losing to North East. It was also their first loss to the Grapepickers since 1947. In their bid to retain their Section 2 crown, the Orange and Black suffered their third loss of the season to Meadville. The Beavers just didn't seem to have it for this decisive game. It Was the third time they suffered a shut out in 61 games. Scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter and adding two more in the last quarter, the Beavers wrote finis to the 1954 season by recording a triumph over Oil City. It was practically an all-senior team that participated in this contest. ?54 ....... .... .... R o adbuilders ..... .... ....
