We Salute . . Principal Howard J. Sheen 1 Members of the Class of 1951: In a very short time you will be graduating from high school and will be planning what your next vocational step will be. Many of you will go to work, some will go to college, many will take nursing courses and some will be married. Regardless of what your vocational plans are you should keep in mind that your education is not completed when you graduate-it should be continued all of your life. Good books to read, travel, interesting hobbies and the will to do a good job, add to the zest of living. We are now living in a world of tension and it is imperative that we have intelligent citizens to analyze our problems and f ind successful solutions to them. In two or three years all of you will have the right to vote and by this right determine what our world status will be. These decisions and many others of like nature will be yours to make. Be prepared for them. I wish to extend my congratulations to you upon your graduation and wish you every success. Howard f. Sheen 5

We Welcome Superintendent Lawrence Nl. Douglas, D Ed 1 The control of the important positions in our society rests now in the hands of those who have preceded you. Your heritage has been fashioned for you by others and you have no choice but to accept it. Soon members of your generation will occupy the positions of leadership in every field and will determine the direction mankind will go. After a few comparatively short years you in turn must relinquish control to the generation which will follow and pass on to them their heritage. However, you will have the op- portunity and the obligation to mal-ce this heritage better than the one you received. So many problems remain unsolved in every area that your best efforts are urgently needed. May you have the courage to live constructively and the wisdom to selert the right way so that your lives may be happy and that those who live after you will not suffer for your mistakes or neglect. Graduation from high school has been an important objective for you. I congratulate you upon the attainment of that goal and assure you of my good wishes for your happiness and success. L. M.
