We Welcome Superintendent Lawrence Nl. Douglas, D Ed 1 The control of the important positions in our society rests now in the hands of those who have preceded you. Your heritage has been fashioned for you by others and you have no choice but to accept it. Soon members of your generation will occupy the positions of leadership in every field and will determine the direction mankind will go. After a few comparatively short years you in turn must relinquish control to the generation which will follow and pass on to them their heritage. However, you will have the op- portunity and the obligation to mal-ce this heritage better than the one you received. So many problems remain unsolved in every area that your best efforts are urgently needed. May you have the courage to live constructively and the wisdom to selert the right way so that your lives may be happy and that those who live after you will not suffer for your mistakes or neglect. Graduation from high school has been an important objective for you. I congratulate you upon the attainment of that goal and assure you of my good wishes for your happiness and success. L. M. Douglas ' 4
