Junior Play . Meteor . It Happens Once In A Lifetime ■ X J. Whitchcnd, V. Elder, R. Clark. H. Swanson. I. R«rlc, R Silvis. R. Hildebrand, S. Franchinn, J. Clifford. O. Ford. A. Lindsey. B. Zafiropulos. R. Grice. J. Miller, J. Iloughtling. C. Post. TUMBLIN’ CREEK The 1947 Junior Class Play, based upon the residents of Tumblin’ Creek, Tennessee, was judged an outstanding success by all who attended. The play, being somewhat different from former years in that it was based upon the lives of “hill-billies” living nearly fifteen years ago, was centered about a feud between the John Thomas and George Payne families over the stealing of a pig and the fact that both families were intent upon their daughters marrying the “city” schoolmaster. The play was rich in “hill” pronunciation and action. The men engaged in “shooting it out”, and the women carried on a knock-down-drag-out hair pulling contest which more than added to the hilarity. All ends well, however, when Joe Bevins arrives “in the nick of time” to clear up the trouble about the stolen pig, and the Professor elopes with his true love, Madge Johnson. The Cast will be forever grateful to Mr. Philip Legal, our most capable director, and Miss Mary Diaz, his assistant. We are sure that the little town of “Tumblin’ Creek” will remain in the memories of many a ‘48 graduate for years to come. Although we made many foolish mistakes as bewildered sophomores, we made this wise choice of class officers: President ------------------------------ Ken Wilson Vice President Curtis Feldt Secretary------------------------------- Robert Hall Treasurer --------------------------- Norman Keefer It didn't take long for us to become accustomed to our new surroundings and by June we felt like “old-timers. When we returned to school in September, we rolled up our sleeves and started on our very important Junior year. Our first big undertaking was our class play entitled “The Angel Brats. The hard work of everyone in the class made this an outstanding success. This play was under the direction of Mr. Philip Legal. S. Franchina. Kerry Denniaon; P. Sperry 26
