Superintendent of Corry Schools Mr. David L. Swartz Message to Seniors: Within a short time you will go out into the World as high school graduates. While this distinction is now much more common than it used to be, it is still a distinction of which you and your parents have reason to be proud. It is also an accomplishment that carries with it some re- sponsibility and society will expect more from you than those not so fortunate as to receive a high school education. You are graduating from high school at a very significant time in history. We are just entering the so-called atomic age that was brought about through scientific developments of World War II. The solution of the many problems facing us during this era is a greater challenge than most people realize. It can be accomplished only through a clear-think- ing, well-educated mass of people in the World. You who are graduating from Corry High School must do your part in helping to build a better world morally, spiritually, education- ally, and culturally, With a clear understanding and a deep apprecia- tion of Our American Way of Life may each graduate face this task of our generation with courage and determination, This brief message carries with it my congratulations and best wishes for complete success and happiness in all of your future endeav- ors. E Members of the Class of 1947: May I extend congratulations to the members of the Corrian Staff and their advisors for the excellent year book that they have prepared. We are now in the initial steps of reconversion from the past World War. Many adjustments must be made in our plans for the future. For the returned World War veteran, who has the necessary qualifications, the generous G. I. Bill of Rights takes care of his future education. How- ever, the boys and girls who were not in service will find that competi- tion Will be very keen in every field that they wish to enter. This con- dition makes it imperative to them to put their best efforts into their chosen field of vocation.
