Cl 0 O O ior Class From: Sen Subject: Self-expression Sirs: For the past three years, from boot camp to first class seamen, we have patiently awaited the day when, as honorably discharged veterans of C.C.H.S., we would have the opportunity of expressing our honest and full opinion of all the days we have scent under your very tender care. That day has now arrived, and herewith is our full and uncensored opinion. First, may we thank you for all the things which you have done to make our enlistment both a profit and a pleasure. We are not unmindful that we have occasion- ally stirreu your ire, but we are conscious of the fact that somewhere beneath your bluff exterior, there was a heart and purpose in all the afflictions which you heap- ed upon us. Truly, it takes both fire and water to bring out the temper in a metal. However, lest you grow over-satisfied by such praise, may we remind you of the following which we shall always remember: l. The lunch hour never did come soon enough. Though we strove to keep off the howling wolf, it was no good, because we were always hungry. 2. Mr. Agee's vacations never agreed with our tim- ing. While we appreciated his intentions, the vacation period never fit in with our activities and usually hurt home morale. . 3. We never could get anyone to feel actually sorry for us. Most of you actually thought that work should be our daily portion, and that any respite gained from our tasks should not be devoted to the noble art of fire alarms, Smoochlng, or other of the more cultural arts. ln closing, may we wish you individually and collect ively a pleasant vacation.
