If 4' y by yCarrie,Davis Dons ofthe ROUND Table was the Homecoming theme. The class floats portrayed this theme: if they were a shield, a castle, a wiz- ard, and a dragon. The winning float was made by the seniors, who have won the float competi- tion every year that they were at Coronado. T T The week before the Homecom- ing game was filled with many lunchtime activities. One such ac- tivity was a 'lCar Bash where stu- dents and faculty paid to hit a Pow- er Tech auto with a sledgeham- mer. The hardest hitters were Counselor Gene Privett and sub' stitute teacher Mike Harris. While this Car Bash was tak- ing place, the counselors sold a ,package lunch which included a hot dog, chips, and aiidrinkfor only one dollar. Homecoming 25

W c so ww 4 by Julie Starkey Tangi Buchanan Doreen Henderson The theme for homecoming 1986 was Dons of the Round Ta- ble. Homecoming week was filled with all sorts of events to excite the students. Among these were the jello slurping contest and the car-bash, as well as planned dress up days when Coronado students would wear things such as hats, college shirts, or beach attire. Dur- ing the lunchtime activities the counselors had a package lunch deal for the students which includ- ed roasted hot dogs. The junior class showed their stuff at the annual homecoming pep fest by shouting their way past the freshmen, sophomores and seniors in the color shout class competition. The medievel theme Dons of the Round Table was incorporat- ed in the homecoming floats of each class. The competition was especially heavy between the ju- niors and the seniors: but for the fourth year in a row, the seniors WON. Homecoming 27
