The bracelets included gold, sil- ver, and coral: Swatch watches were sometimes worn on the inside of the wrists. Although the fads and fashions of the year were ba- sically 'lanything goes, there were those that were more common than others among Coronado's students. Popular at Coronado were Jimmy'Z which included shirts with slits up the back and skirts and shorts that had velcro instead of buttons, snaps, or zippers. Concert T- shirts with torn jeans were also seen frequently on cam- pus, as well as a contempo- rary look which consisted of buttoned-up collars, Levi'S, Guess jeans and overalls, in addition to brand names such as Forenza and Generra. A wide assortment of shoes including Flojos, which were rubber shoes with criss- crossed bands, were popular among Coronado students. Also popular were a variety of accessories ranging from sunglasses to bracelets and headbands to big bags. One hairstyle that was seen quite a bit was the flat top. Two-tone hair was also seen -- the top was bleached blonde while the sides and the back were the natural col- or. Long hair was back, and the teased look was in. A customized convertible job was done on many trucks seen in the Coronado parking lot. Mustangs were seen often as well, but the cars that were really hot at Coronado were Volkswagen bugs.
