E X YQ Ba Dear Mr. Seaman: After recently completing a tour around the world, I ran acros's a number of students who were in the graduating class of I95I, and I thought perhaps you would be interested. I left from New York on an atomic rocket for Europe, which was driven by Mildred Nev- itt, who has recently set a world record of 7 minutes, SV4 seconds. Margaret Timmerman came close with 7 minutes, 6 seconds'. I arrived at the Rhodes Airport and ran into Mary Lou Zamudio, who is now the Duchess of Clermont-Ferrand, on her way to attend one of Ann Grevemyer's balls. Ann is the head of the society circle in Dnieperketrovsh, Russia. While passing through Paris, I entered the Pariee Nightclub, only to be greeted by Noel Adkins who owns twenty-five such joints Ipard on me, I mean nightclubsl all over Europe. Fea- tured at the Pariee, were Copsey and Harmon, dance team, that has taken Paris by storm. Seated at a table across from mine was Clarence Davy, multi-millionaire playboy with his lat- est fiancee, Mary Jo Turner, now star of Glynn and Pound motion pictures in Funfkirchun, Hungary. After hearing Madame Bethrushka Banoski, the former Marguerite Zamudio, who IS with the Wheeler Opera Company, which I visited while in Bagdad, sing an aria from the lat- est opera by Pike Meade, now rated as the greatest classical composer of all times, I started on my way again. I ran into Carol Isaacson in Ludwigshafer, Germany, former professor of Rossi College, who was working on the Kohne Theory. In Civilaneccoloxion, Italy, I found Al- ice Garcia's beauty shop. She has made a name for herself by her research on new shades for your hair. Pat McLain was there. She is now a platinum blond. While passing through Lausanne, Switzerland, I spent a night at Suter's skiing camp where I found Dorothea, the champion skiier of Switzerland. In Johannesburgh, South Africa, I got a copy of Nancy Renner's latest book, A Main Was the Cause of It AIl. Julie Kivlen assisted her with examples. Here my luggage was stolen and when I went to report it I found Ronald Grimaud, Chief Jailer. Because my time was limited. I had to leave without it, but Ronald had promised to see Celeste Walkup, who was married to the dictator over Johannesburg. Tuppy Arndt boarded the rocket at Ubangi- shari on her way back to the States to obtain her fifth divorce so she could marry Spencer Butts, one-time notorious gangster in South America. He had recently been divorced from Thea Spencer, the torch singer. Journeying up through Egypt, I ran into Dody Weeks, famous genealogist, who had just found the tomb of Ganda-Lado-Rumbles. While in Wadi Halfa, I found a burlesque show owned by Ann Tobelman and Wanda Huffman. Star billing was given to Dizzi Zur- rriuehlen and her famous bubble dance. Also featured were Gordon Lamb, Mickey Moret and Collin Chan as the Melodious Morons. In Miritson, I found Mickey Weir working on a new canal.. Barbara Briggs was also around, Mickey informed me, looking for a new type of flea for her flea circus, but I didn't have time to wait for her to come back from the desert and I left for China. In Shasi I ran into Paulette Reame and Elaine Kracht, now studying Foo Manchoo's prophecies, and they told me that David Caywood and Marvin Scott, now both brilliant scientists, were in the Pen-tin-toe mountains working on a synchronized ectoplasmic sonstituent. I tried to hire a donkey from Dawayne Kracht and Art Carson who own a don- key ranch, to get to their tower but they had hired out their last seven to Rode's Rowdies band who were going into the mountains to practice AIIen's latest composition, Foogie to Clare Duloogie. Renfro Hoskins and Jane Francis are attempting to write lyrics to it. In Wadayama, Japan, in Heckard's Rice Store, I ran into Carol Crawford, now Mrs. Bob Combs, both noted for their missionary work on Menemitorichima Island. She told me that Teb Braddock left a position as head of Lewis Medical Institute when Emily Cornelius jilted him on their wedding day for Millionaire Sonny Varner and had joined her party of mission- aries. Myrna Roberts and Mark Davis are a couple of the more experienced missionaries. While in the Solomon Islands, I found Joan DiLeo and her Troupe. Among them were Charlene Eggers, Mary Carlin, Patty Ashworth, and Carolyn Rogers, who were learning the native dances lor her new show in Atlast, Afghanistanf Nick Reynolds and George Moura were just leaving Poe-Poe Island as l was passing through after an unsuccessful try at civiliz- ing the Purepigest tribe. They were traveling in one of the Chaney-King Luxury Liners. I took a ship from Poe-Poe to South America. During the last half hour before sighting land lit took only IIf4l I discovered Margot Mowatt was captain of the ship and that I was travelin on a new Silverman Liner designed by Jim Niemyer, I also found Jane Rivera, chief soda-lei in the refreshment room. Upon reaching Areguipa, Peru, I entered Buddy Kohl and Johnny EIweII's hat shop and found them surrounded by reporters from SIosser's Fashion Mag- azine, taking pictures of their latest creation, A Flower-a-garden-a-bird.'' This is a creation by two of their apprentices, Darlee Kracht and Jo Rubins. i I found the Oswald Monument in Sudo-Fleipse, erected in memory of his undying as- sistance in building the Tarbuck Bridge from Fizagpatam, Colombia, to Sancti Spiritus, Cu- ba. Jackie Miller was chief engineer on this job. Jane Hinkle and Gean Griesy were the first to drive across it in their Kurtzmobile, designed by Katherine and Pat Roswall. From here I returned to the States, dropping in to see Amelia Rameriz, now Mrs, Stan- Iey, in Lidstone, Oklahoma. She has been successfully married these last twenty years and has seven beautiful children. I met Marion McKechnie and Chandra Sooy as I came out the door. They said that they were doing fine with their hotel chain. I must close for now as I'm leaving soon for Iceland where I've heard Marianne Soder- berry islexperimenting on Hot Houses. Joanna Rohrbough has her own newspaper there, too. It's rated as the best since The Islander. , Sincerely yours, r...... i iovl A I95l Graduate 'SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS PRESIDENT Dick Tarback VICE-PRESIDENT Guy Chaney MARGARET TIMMERMAN - Senior class secretary, Junior class treasurer, Sophomore class nomi- nating committee, GAA, Spanish Club, French Club, Spotlighters, Girls' League Cabinet, Booster Club vice-president, Hi-Jinx '49, '5I: Carnival '48, Song Leader '49, Sl: Senior Cabinet. The C.H.S. eleven began the schedule by beating a powerful Saint Augustine team, I9- I8, sparked by the running of Swede Gri- maud and Harry Sykes. The Green Wave then traveled to Brawley and beat the strong Mustangs 25-I9. Between the heat and the Referees, it was' a rugged battle. The brutal Pt. Loma team then beat the green team 27-7, but the score was very misleading, and the Islanders out-played these powerful op- ponents. We then journeyed trans-bay to whip the Sweetwater Devils 2l-I4, The mighty Escondido Cougars became the hosts and beat us I8-O in our first league de- feat. The Islanders, ridden by injuries, had two touchdowns called back. The Green Wave then became the home team and downed the strong Oceanside Pirates 20-I3. A9630 We were the host, this time to the Chula Vista Spartans: we downed them l3-0, The Islanders then beat the very powerful Long Beach Jordon team 3I-I2. The passing and running by Mark Davis and Harry Sykes was unequaled throughout the season, In the last game of the year the Green Wave was overcome by the gigantic Montebello team 2I-I4. And to climax ra wonderful season, Coronado placed five players on the all- League selections: these were: Jake King, .lohhn Elwell, .lerry Silverman, Swede Grimaud, and Haffv SYIYCS Who also was chosen on the all-S.C.l.F. team. Hats off to all of you and all the squad making this happy season possible. THESQUAD The injury-plagued C.H.5. eleven played .to the expected standards set before them, win- ning all but three games throughoutqthe entire season, to gain a Co-Championship with a strong Escondido eleven. . This berth in the standings was gained. bv good playing, good coaching, determination, and high team spirit. The team this year was assumed almost destined to make a ood showing, as it was composed mainly of, experienced returning lettermen. The hard-hitting forward wall driv- en by the fabulous Sunday Durland, was composed of the Three Blind Mice, Mal- colm Ince, Teb Braddock, and Dennis Ash: also Guy Chane lhaving no friends in the optical businessl held down the End positions wonderfully. The Tackle Slots were filled by the Little Giants: IBigl AI Rodes, Jerry lFat Boyl Silverman, and Renfro lThe Terriblel Hos- kins. At the Guard positions were Jake ll Love Refereesl King, Sonny lHelIo Junel Varner, and Pat lStudI Flynn. At the center spot and do- ing a fine iob was handsome John Elwell land fighter Herb Rhodes?l. And lest we forget probably the most glorious backfield in the history of C.l'l.S.: The great ball handling and passing of Mark Davis and the powerful, driving, never-say-die attack of Ronnie Grimaud and his brother Swede! And probably the most glorious and celebrated back ever to come out of C.H.S. is the Dynamic Harry Sykes. Congratulations and much thanks to all of these men. BEES E . ir-........n Front row: A. The team worked together very well, but sometimes let down in the stretch. Coach Lewis had the boys hustling all through the season. Mail: pulled through with the scoring championship after missing one complete game due to ill- ness. Teb Braddock was high-scoring guard ot the leag, and so took over where Tom Brown left oft. The great playing of Charlie Rose and Jay Turner led to a lot of team- work and scoring abilities. The school is ex- pecting a lot from these two next year, All-Metro selection came out' and Mark Davis was placed on the first team for the third straight year. Noel Adkins and Teb Braddock took second-string honors, while Charlie Rose and Jay Turner received honor- able mention.
