The presentation of the 1941 Poppy again marks the culmination of a prosperous and profitable, as well as an outstanding year of accomplish- ments for Coronado High School. I hold it an honor and feel proud that I am permitted to be the leader of such a fine group of young men and women. I shall look forward with pleasure to the individual successes in what- ever line of endeavor each may choose. If called upon, I am sure that all will do their part in defending our Amer- ican Way of Life and all the Ideals we hold dear. As Superintendent, I appreciate deeply the spirit of friendliness and loyalty which the student body has shown on all occasions. That success and happiness may come to all, is my heartfelt wish. 9d'A , 4 ll ef 'fr g j. .Zadie Gmflm Swfzefz, ' 5 l ,f1..e.sJmfw ,,.., -so As you read these lines, Seniors of 1941, you will be upon the threshold of leaving the sheltered walls of Coro- nado High and stepping into a world wracked by war, turmoil and uncer- tainty. However, this must not daunt your spirits, for the very insecurfty of the times challenges your ability and confronts you with many tasks and opportunities seldom experienced by previous generations. It must be re- membered that the greatest advances in individual lives and in civilization have been made in periods of danger- ous insecurity, when character, intel- ligence, and skill have had to meet and defeat stubborn menaces. That you have developed the quali- ties of mind and character, of loyalty and patriotism to meet this new world you are about to enter, is our sincere hope. Seniors of 1941, we olier our best wishes and our affectionate concern. May you long remember your happy days at Coronado High.
