“WILMO 'I' INV ITAT IO NAL On December 18, four teams, Wilmot, Big Stone, Peever, and Corona journeyed to Wilmot for a four team tourney. The weather was warm and sunny and the auditorium was packed for both sessions. In the first game the Midgets took.on Peever. It was a well played game but the Midgets gradually pulled away to win easily by the score of 61 to 47. DISTRICT TOURNAMENT I On February 25, 26, and 27 the district ttournament was held at Sisseton. For once the weather was fair. The Corona Midgets had some tough luck in their ahooting and wound up playing Wilmot for the 7th and Bth place. Corona won this game 74 to 59. In the first game the Midgets played Summit and lost by two points in an overtime. The score was 65 to 65 aft- er four quarters. Summit scored two points in 'Ethe over- time to win 65 to 671' In their second game the Midgets lost to Hosholt by the score of 48 to 57. The game was much closer than the score indicates. The Midgets led at the half but fell short the last two periods. ' BASKETBALL PROSPECTS The basketball prospects for the 1954-55 season are bright with the return of eight lettermen. The -returns are Paul Jordre, Terry Jordre, Gerald Miller, Robert Trapp Larry Ferber, Dale Buttke, David De Boer, Lloyd Fenhaus, and Donald Schultz. Others who show promise and should be a great help are Lloyd Hooth, Duane Steege, Gerald Bowers, and Billy Rell. There is also some promising material coming up from the grade team. Naturally the loss of such fine players as Ralph See- hafer, Glen Zeigler, and Billy Wilde will be greatly felt. We are all looking forward to next season. 5 Ff !lQ ' 01 -' -0N '-f- fxll-s : S 'vw V'c - 5-no-v-'1'6 3- '7 if 4.3 C D' Q XL -Q 'fav 1.36.2 69 M f..,,:' 5? 1.56 Cijx'
