Herron Member Board of Education Corona Unified School District 2088 Hanner Avenue Norco, Califrnia Dear Dr. Herron, This copy of the Corona Senior High School ' s annual is presented to you to express our appreciation for your efforts to provide for us a good educational program through the years we have been in school. We have enjoyed our years in the Corona Schools. We appreciate the teachers, administrators and board members who have worked and planned in our behalf. In particular we appreciate the fine leadership you have provided for us. We wish you every success in your work and hope you find real satisfaction in makipg your contribution to the boys and girls of this school district. Sincerely, Pamela M. Gunter Ed it or- in- Chi ef b R U A R f rhythm is the enlightenment of a dral) existence , it surges wherever human creatures are moving, our whole purpose in life is enmeshed in rhythm the movement of feet in an empty hall, the patterns woven by busy hands like the stars that sweep across the shy we light up our niche in the world with a Rhythm acquired through the years, as the tools and forces of men ' s labor rhythmically build a new symphony of education . . . likewise do we rhythmically build the future. Look to the new school! See the rasping saw. the pounding hammers the humming drill the throbbing motors rln thm has built our school and here we will furnish the greatest rhythm of all . . . LIFE. Just as a year book has a theme behind its every page, so must a school have a planning force behind its construction. Thirty-eight years ago the people of Corona built a new high school. This school exemplified the pride and promise of a new educational future. Corona High School served the community well in many ways. Meanwhile conscientious citizens recognized the fact that this school would not always serve the needs of the growing town and so they took it upon themselves to set in motion the ideas that would someday build the very school we now attend. For their loyal service and the many hours spent in fulfilling the ideas of those farseeing citizens, we humbly dedicate this yearbook to the school board and their leader Dr. Merrihew. And so the annual is at rest, the rhythm in its planning has ceased, the ideas of its makers have been sewn together for all to see, their labor has ended. To these noble people, the book which you hold signifies a creative chapter in their lives. I say creative because each has contributed something, each has applied his talent in molding a book of memories for you. We also have our memories and I would like to share them with you. I shall never forget these people or the many hours spent with them in room J-8. For in this room some of the wildest “goings on in school took place . . . like the time that Sandy pre- tended that Mr. Pauly was in the closet and knocked on the door whenever someone came to see him. How can I forget Sharon ' s howling about pictures and never getting the right sizes or Barbra ' s “darn this type- writer”. Then there was Joanie ' s “late bus” and Judy ' s “when’s Rudy going to bring my cow? Sherry was a real good sport when we teased her about her “Tuesday morning appearance and Frank’s “is the annual in so I can sleep tonight?” Of course there was Kristin ' s almost leaving the big sisters out of the senior index and David ' s cracks about the captions the girls thought up. Gary always seemed to be teasing the girls, poor things, and finally, right at the end Lin ' s big goof and the mystery of the disappearing pictures. But we had fun as we worked and this made it even more rewarding. I owe much to many people. To Mr. Pauly goes my humblest gratitude for he made “impossible things possible. Thanks also to Rudy, the lamb, who always came through in the end. But the greatest thanks of all goes to the staff for with out them I couldn ' t have kept my promise, the one I made to you upon election as editor, to bring you the “best darn annual this school has ever had. But I could go on and on and as the rhythm borne into this annual must cease as the last page is turned so must I . . . and so . . . here it is . . . Coronal 1961. I am proud of this annual, proud of those who made it possible, and prouder yet to have been its editor.
