. . . strives toward excellence To be a member of National Honor Society you must carry a 3.6 grade average for five semesters. The 47 selected students were initiated to the club their junior year when they received a few sprays of blue colored hairspray in their hair at school from former National Honor Society members. They also received a diploma at the initiation ceremony in May 1986 when former members made their closing remarks and welcomed the new National Honor Society members to the club. The officers of this years club were, Steve Walker-President, Treavor Allen-Vice President, Anne Matthias-Secretary, Doug Gilbeau-Treasur- er, and Kelly Heffernan-Historian. This is one of the most honorable clubs to be a part of as described here by Anne Matthias: It's a great club because everyone knows each other.
