Cheerleaders prompt unit , school spirit Better Than Ever was the motto the cheerleaders chose this year. Their goals were to promote school unity and spirit. They raised over two thousand dollars to go to cheerleading camp in La Jolla, California, dur- ing the summer. They went to camp to learn new ways to pro- mote spirit, new chants and cheers. Out of approximately one hun- dred girls that tried out for the Varsity, J.V. and Freshman squads, only eight made it for Varsity, eight for J.V. and six for Freshmen. This year they sponsored the Sadie Hawkins dance in April, they also sold Better Than Ever buttons, to promote spirit. 114 CHEER
