Gas crunch rcsfricfs school fransporfafion Though bus service is available to most students within a large area of the school district, many students use other meth- ods of transportation for getting to and from school. The majority of Corona students ride the bus to and from school. Bus service is provided to students living within the area of Pinal County line, Rural Road on the east, 19th Avenue on the west and 24th Street to 48th Street south of Baseline Road. The second most popular means of transportation is for stu- dents to drive themselves to and from school. While many stu- dents drive their parents car to school, some students own their own car. My dad bought it tor me and then l paid him back little by little, said Sheri Griese, senior. Many different styles of cars can be seen in the student park- ing lot, ranging from 30 year old trucks to a Mercedes Benz. Some students say, though, that the high price of gasoline has restricted their amount of driving, and some students car pool to and from school. I mostly ride the bus now because of the gas prices, said Tony Bafaloukos, senior. Many other students prefer to ride bicycles to school, while others ride motorcycles or walk. According to Eldon Mailes, principal, most students either ride the bus or drive to school. O.. 52 ACTIVITIES
