McBride gives leofures on Arizona history Besides being a department chairman here at Corona, social studies teacher James McBride is also a leading authority on Ari- zona history. McBride has written and had published several articles concerning state history and has spoken at the Arizona Historical Society. He has also been asked to speak at several different colleges due to his background in certain areas ot the state. McBride said he first became interested in Arizona history when he was stationed at Wil- liams Air Force Base in 1967. After ending a 20 year career as a mechanic and ground crewman with the Air Force, McBride decided to return and make his home here. Deciding he wanted to be a teacher after holding a training position in the service, McBride earned a Masters degree in history. Arizona has a vitalness you don't see in many states, McBride said. VVe're still a young state. You can see the direct results of things that have happened and might still be going on. O..
