ACADEMICS There was a signihcant change in this yearis teaching staff and administration from the years before. Eldon Mailes served his first year as principal, replacing James Love, Corona's frst principal who was promoted to assistant superin- tendent. New teachers jilled numerous slots that opened up last year, due in part to a reduction ofjorce dis- trict wide. S ome teachers changed the sub- jects they were teaching. Besides being the chief administrator for the district, Waters is also in charge of organizing school board meetings. Other members of the administration include Dudley Stringer, business man- ager and Bill Cox, personnel director. Corona's first principal, Jim Love, was promoted this year to assistant superin- tendent. Love took the place of Dr. Bay- mond Weinhold, who took a job as super- intendent of the Scottsdale district. Has- kell Henshaw, athletic director, will retire this year. Mrs. Virginia Tinsley serves as presi- dent ot the school board. Mr. William Boyle serves as vice-president, while Mrs. Mary Francis Lewis serves as the board's secretary. Mr. Robert Kempton and Dr. Richard Smith senfe as school board members.
