According to Assistant Principal Jan Velasco, the lunch hour was not increased because they didn't want students to go off campus for lunch, and because it would disrupt the busing schedule, causing students to be released later. Students were not necessarily concerned with the time factor but with the lack of fast food restaurants near the school. The time provided is appropriate to eat, said senior Debbie Atkerson. lf you wish to socialize or go off campus for lunch there is not enough time. Last year I went off cam- pus for lunch. I got three speeding tickets and I was late everytime. One student commented, lt's too tar to go anywhere for lunch. Besides, it takes too much gas. A driver for J. B. Catering Service said, We had a truck stopping at Corona a while back but too much was being ripped off so we stopped going. Though the students would like a fast food restaurant to be built near the school, residents ofthe area would not.
