New club feaohes sfudenfs sporf of rodeo One of Corona's newest clubs this year was the Corona Rodeo Club, sponsored by Jess Rogers. The purpose of the Rodeo Club is to promote interest in and teach students about the sport of rodeo, and to offer par- ticipation in rodeos for those who are interested, said club president James Scott. The sport of rodeo has become very popular with many Corona students. lt's not a club just for cowboys, James said. Fund-raising was not a main function for the club. The club participated in community projects like toy and can food drives. Sponsored by Connie Kamm, the Cor- ona Community Club put into practice the theory of the alternative school, which is a community involvement pro- ject approach to learning, according to Mrs. Kamm. One of their projects was the American Heritage Festival held in November. It offered students exposure to a different kind of learning.
