The legacy of a top-rated and continued on with many members receiving awards at festivals for their solo abilities. Recognition at these festivals was for Dean Fulton on trombone, Mike Brown on sax, Donald Yahn on piano, and Scott Dalton on drums. The band entered in the advanced cate ories at many festivals throughout Soutiern California. At these competitive festivals, the band also received top-rated advice from local professionals. The band traveled to Mt. San Antonio College, San Diego Cit College, Fullerton, and Orange Coast College. The band also played during lunch and in evening concerts. Director Harry Corea felt that the band had many aspirincg jazz musicians which together create an ensemble that swung. 124 jazz band

,. se 1 Beg. voice!M.M.M Beginning voice is a program designed for new singers to explore their musical talents. The program, according to advisorfteacher Loretta Robinson, is geared to create a performance-like environment for the novice singers. This year they had many opportunities for performing. The vocalists sang at private engagements, school assemblies, and the Spring Musical. What is MMM? Modern Music Masters is an international music honor society which fosters an interest in solo, ensemble, band, orchestral and choral performances. Advisor Harry Corea feels that MMM is necessary, for it encourages and promotes music and musicianship on a high school campus.
